ARTICLE 1156. An obligation is a juridical necessity to give, to do or not to do. (n) Meaning of obligation. The term obligation is derived from the Latin word "obligatio" which means a "tying" or "binding." (1) It is a tie of law or a juridical bond by virtue of which one is bound in favor of another to render something-and this may consist in giving a thing, doing a certain act, or not doing a certain act.

I argue that obligations of an important type inhere in what I call 'joint commitments'. I propose a joint commitment account of everyday agreements. This could explain why some philosophers believe that we know of the obligating nature of agreements a priori. I compare and contrast obligations of joint commitment with obligations in the relatively narrow sense recommended by H. L. A. Hart, a recommendation that has been influential. Some central contexts in which Hart takes there to be obligations in his sense are contexts in which there are obligations of joint commitment. Nonetheless, different senses of 'obligation' appear to be at issue.

LAW OF CONTRACT Undergraduate Assessment 010 Module No.: MOD3333 Module Lecturer: Tiloma Thenuwara Module Leader: Curtiz Cotterell Submitted on: 17th March 2023 World Count: 2595 A contract is referred to as an agreement that is responsible for giving rise to obligations which are recognised and enforced by the law (Arvind, 2017). This can be attributed to the fact that a contract is associated with the regulation of legally-binding agreements in the context of the contract laws of England and Wales. One of the most notable importance of the “Law of Contract” is associated with the fact that it helps in the maintenance of business relationships as well as protecting the concerned organisation (Bircham et al., 2021). This highlights the fact that Contract Law has been considered to be a fundamental element that serves the purpose of making private promises legally enforceable in order to reduce the extent of legal breaches. Moreover, Partington (2021) has commented that some of the most important sources of contract law include “State Statutes” and “State Case Laws”. The aim of the essay is to focus on various statutes that have granted implied rights in terms of the sale of goods to Paula by Computers R Us along with the use of relevant case laws in order to advise Paula for the recovery of the computer software and business loss.
