Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is composed of five residents, appointed by the City Council, who help plan for the City’s growth, economic vitality, and environmental quality. The Commission reviews and makes final decisions on many types of planning applications, such as land use permits, subdivisions, and environmental reviews. The Commission also makes recommendations to the City Council on planning applications that require Council approval.

In addition, the Commission advises the Council on long-range planning matters, such as zoning and the General Plan.

Now Accepting Applications to Join

Notice is hereby given that at their February 15, 2024 meeting, the City Council will make an appointment to the City of Jurupa Valley Planning Commission. The individual selected will fill an unscheduled vacancy, which shall expire in December 2026, or until their successor is appointed and sworn in as a member whichever is later.

Applicants must be Jurupa Valley residents. Planning Commission member appointments are ratified by the City Council.

All persons interested in being appointed to the Planning Commission are invited to submit a letter of interest to the City Council that includes information about the applicant’s community involvement, work experience, and current contact information.
